Artist's Description
The Guesthouse of Rumi shown here as an arch or door by Princeton based artist Faraz Khan is full of wonderful reminders. The door or arch is the entry into the mehmankhana or guesthouse that gives a new meaning to mundane emotions often associated with a stressful life. The calligraphy is written in a Princetoni style to convey an Eastern and Western connection. The colors from the bottom to the top signify rock bottom silver, pristine water, golden soil, green vegetation, and blue skies with a sprinkle of nuqtas or dots in Princeton orange sprinkled throughout the calligraphy. Persian calligraphy of Rumis poem the Guesthouse.
