Artist's Description

'Dreamer' is a work that represents a high praise for freedom and the agony of slavery. The calligraphy forming the bird is a poem Parinday ki Faryad in Urdu language by Allama Iqbal, famous poet-philosopher of India (Pakistan). The poem is painstakingly written twice to form a free flying bird as opposed to the caged bird in the cage. The golden cage is depicted in the background and foreground shows an open door to the cage with blue sky in the background.
